Owing to the roadworks in Bodmin which, we have been advised will create enormous problems with both parking and access to the Westberry Hotel, we have had to change the venue for this year's AGM.
We shall now be meeting at the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth (see address above). Instructions for arrival by road are give at the bottom of this page.
As usual the morning will deal with general reports and the annual business of the Twinning Committee for Cornwall. The morning's agenda will be followed by an update on the paperwork that has been trialled by Truro-Morlaix and Callington and there will, of course, be ample time for networking and catching up on the latest in twinning in Cornwall prior to an excellent two-course lunch.
In the afternoon there will be a speaker, Ken Johns, who will give a fascinating presentation on the role and life of Cornish miners in World War I. His talk will be accompanied by a film .
The day will provide plenty of opportunities to meet up with fellow twinners within the County, catch up on news and exchange ideas. It is often very reassuring to know that your association's problems are not unique. More often than not, solutions have already been found - or there is someone who can offer helpful suggestions. Previous interactive sessions between delegates met with unanimous positive approval and led to healthy debate and a plethora of new ideas to take back to individual associations.
For further details and information, or to book places, please contact the Vice Chairman, Beatrice Kerno, via the Committee Members page.
